The Extent of Our Humanness

This series entitled, The Extent of our Humanness, relates to the limits of what can be known about our human nature, compounded with the limitless nature of Christ, both fully God and fully man.

I am most inspired by the moment of conception, the secret place where we begin our lives. While this juncture can be observed under microscope, in practice, the instant we begin is unknown to the world. Yet at this moment, we gain the identities of human and of child.

Our Lady of the Sign, an icon depicting Christ's conception in Mary's womb, is perhaps the greatest influence on my work.

Contemplate this: The Creator of the world resided in the smallest and most secret place–His mother's womb. Here the Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.

In a flash, death's dominion over the world began to unravel.
