The goal of this page is to write up and share what I have been working on, thinking about, and creating in a laidback way, mostly to encourage myself to keep working and also to process through the whats and whys of it all. Starting today, June 17, 2021!
Since graduating:
Joel picked up a camera and started shooting all of my pottery and paintings from this year. I edited them and started pulling things together for this website. What this looked like: my pottery sat in the middle of the kitchen for a month.
I have been doing production staging and editing for Cōppa Cō - the amazing coffee/art gallery shop in town. Styling coffee is very satisfying.
I bought mattes. For prints I printed in the fall and some original paintings. The pack I bought had unique colors - no repeating colors. This led to endless color comparison - comparing the color of matte to the print or original. It is wonderful how the matte informs or dulls the art.
What gave me great enjoyment was cutting up all the wedding and bridal shower cards (many had stunning graphics and textures) and creating collages from them. The color comparison with the mattes continued with this experiment.
